SHORT ANSWER

Often no — but it depends on your passport.

EU citizens are on Georgia’s visa-free list. British citizens can also visit visa-free for up to one year. If you hold another passport, check the current Georgian government list before booking.

VISA-FREE STAY

Georgia is unusually generous with short visits

The Georgian government’s visa-free ordinance allows citizens of listed countries to enter and stay without a visa for one full year. That is much longer than the usual 90-day tourist allowance found in many countries.

Important: visa-free entry does not remove other entry requirements. In 2026, tourists generally also need qualifying health and accident insurance.
